This rating is assigned only after careful screening and testing standards have been approved following UPF guidelines.

UPF, SPF, UVA and UVB, what does it mean?
UPF is a rating according to an Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF). A UPF rate indicates how much UVA and UVB radiation is absorbed by fabric. UPF 50+ allows 1/50th of UV rays to pass through fabric, which therefore reduces UV exposure by 50 times and provides 98% block of UVA and UVB rays.

UVA & UVB: 3 kinds of UV rays reach the earth. UVA & UVB rays can be harmful and cause everything from burns, tans, and other skin reactions such as acne, sun spots and skin cancer.

SPF is the Sun Protection Factor. Most lotions and creams use the SPF rating. SPF is a gauge that measures how much time a person can be exposed to the sun.
